Collection of Florence Turner Peterson, 1865-1988.

The Florence Turner Peterson collection contains a variety of materials relating to her personal life and her family. Materials in this collection include correspondence, photo albums, financial records, audio cassettes, and memorabilia, many of which relate to daily life at Gustavus Adolphus College or in St. Peter, Minnesota. Florence Peterson was born 28 April 1900, and died 27 November 1988. Peterson was a member of the community of Gustavus Adolphus College for many years; she graduated in 1922, was a professor of English and History, and the College Archivist from 1956-1982. In addition, she was involved with international students, and provided housing for student boarders, many of whom corresponded with her following graduation.
